It’s all in the details. Your house isn’t a home without those intricate moments that make your guests go “oh my god I love that, where did you get it?”.

Dowsing & Reynolds specialises in stylish details for your home, from light switches and bathroom taps to statement lighting and handles, knobs and pulls. The brand is passionately curious about making the home more striking and remarkable, concentrating on those oh so important finishing touches.

After seven years trading online and operating from north Leeds, Dowsing & Reynolds has thrown open the doors to its first store in the gorgeous Victoria Quarter in Leeds city centre, and it’s a thing of beauty.

The concept store was designed by founder and co-owner James and Ally Dowsing-Reynolds, operations director Tony Green and local interior designer Karen Knox from Making Spaces. The team enlisted the help of consumer psychologist and human experience expert, Kate Nightingale to provide an immersive shopping experience like no other. Spanning 2,165ft across two floors, the store has a dedicated section for each room in the home.

Brass has been collaborating with Dowsing & Reynolds to build regional brand awareness through business profiling and to innovatively launch the store to press, influencers, designers and Leeds’ most influential movers and shakers.

The main event

To generate a real buzz and excitement ahead of the opening of the new store, the Brass PR team hand delivered beautiful invitations to key journalists in the region, prestigious interior design experts and the best of Leeds’ influencers.

The team planned and hosted a spectacular event in the store to give attendees the opportunity to touch a feel the products and get to know the owners through individual tours and interviews. Working with the Dowsing & Reynolds new neighbours in the Victoria Quarter, tasty canapés were provided by The Ivy and the bar was courtesy of Harvey Nichols.

Guests mingling at launch.

Brass considered every element and detail of the launch event to really inspire the guests who attended, starting with being greeted by ethereal moths (we’ll come back to that later) leading guests into the store. To really ensure the guests took a bit of the Dowsing & Reynolds magic home with them, we created exclusive gift bags to showcase key products including stunning faux foliage and a diamond geometric light bulb.

Dancers and goody bags.

It didn’t end at the launch

Dowsing & Reynolds is a luxurious brand that has real media appeal, our PR team have told the story of the brand, covering its 100% increase in turnover and implemented phased communications on the launch to generate maximum column inches. We also worked on a range of out of home advertising which you might have spotted driving into the city centre of Leeds over the last month, the stunning window vinyls at the store, print advertising and supporting collateral for the event to really showcase every last important detail.

What’s with the moths?

Well, moths are drawn to the light, to beautiful things and just can’t help themselves but to go in for a closer look. The lure is irresistible.
